Dr. Silva Kuschke
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Silva Kuschke is a Clinical Audiologist from South Africa who brings a wealth of international experience to the Cayman Hearing Center team. She completed her undergraduate, Master's and PhD degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the University of Pretoria, where her doctoral research focused on pediatric audiology.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kuschke has combined clinical practice with research and teaching to advance hearing healthcare. She is a registered Speech-Language Therapist and Audiologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has also completed specialised training in cochlear implantation, aural rehabilitation, paediatric diagnostics, and clinical research, and has presented her work at international conferences.
Inspired by the connection between hearing, communication, and quality of life, Dr. Kuschke is passionate about helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes through compassionate, person-centred care. She has a particular interest in pediatric audiology, vestibular assessment, and ensuring individuals and families receive evidence-based support throughout every stage of their hearing healthcare journey.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kuschke enjoys playing the piano and violin, travelling, spending time outdoors, and exploring new cultures. She is also an internationally accredited yoga teacher and has been given two Sign Language names by Deaf patients. One meaning "Big Smile" and the other "Curly Hair", a reflection of the meaningful relationships she builds with those she cares for.
